A scientific / cultural / conference centre on the mountainous pacific coast of Mexico.
The building essentially consists of 2 curves surfaces. The upper surface forms a roof that creates an open -and thus ventilated- space in the shade on top of the lower surface that in turn forms a roof over the semi buried interior spaces.
The upper surface collects solar energy and rain for use in the self sufficient “zero energy” building underneath.
The lower surface curves to give the audience a spectacular view of the pacific ocean.
Made for the “Semilla de los ingenios” competition (www.ingenios.mx).
